Job summary

Labcorp in Portsmouth, VA is hiring a phlebotomist float to collect blood for all ages, document patient data, and ensure accurate processing in a patient‑focused setting. You will travel to additional sites as needed and support billing and administrative tasks.

Minimum qualifications include a phlebotomy certification or training; 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred. A competitive benefits package and a $1.00/hr float incentive are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 6 months’ experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
