Software Placement Group, SPG is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in the Winston-Salem, NC area. This float role covers multiple locations, with on-site duties and potential for permanent placement.

The schedule is full-time, with weekdays and occasional Saturdays, and mileage reimbursement as you travel between sites. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, proper storage, and ensuring 100% accuracy with requisitions.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Clean driving record
• Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data and decontamination activities.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
