The ideal candidate has venipuncture hands-on experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to accurate documentation. This onsite Indianapolis role offers a 1st shift with potential for permanent placement based on performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Valid state phlebotomy certification, where required by state regulations.
• Experience with blood collection, specimen labeling, centrifuging, processing, storage and transportation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to specimen accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with patients and healthcare personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using straight or butterfly needles following venipuncture procedures.
• Explain collection processes to patients in a clear, courteous manner.
• Collect and store blood and other specimens according to protocols.
• Verify orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Ensure accurate patient identification, labeling, and requisitions.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity.
• Update patient information and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with troubleshooting, training, and workflow improvements.
