Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract-to-hire role in the Washington DC area. The position involves floating to Maryland and DC, with a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM schedule on weekdays and potential OT on weekends.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, documenting maintenance data, and complying with OSHA requirements. Must have strong venipuncture skills and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 5 years experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Match requisition forms to specimens and ensure correct labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity per protocol.
