Job summary

A healthcare services organization in Washington, DC is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist for a contract-to-hire opportunity with floating assignments to nearby Maryland locations including College Park and Silver Spring.

You will perform blood draws, label specimens, handle transport, and ensure specimen integrity while complying with OSHA and DEP regulations. The role requires 5+ years venipuncture experience and a state phlebotomy certification, with on-site work and mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Comfortable performing hard sticks and working alone.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, and record maintenance data
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients
• Float to multiple sites in DC and Maryland (College Park, Silver Spring)
• Package specimens for transport and ensure specimen integrity during transport
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings
