Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a Float Phlebotomist to support a client healthcare facility in Portland, OR 97227. This local contract position runs for 3 months with a schedule of 6 am–6 pm.

Pay is $20–$23 per hour, and mileage reimbursement is available. Responsibilities include performing venipuncture and specimen collection, labeling and processing, verifying patient information and orders, and ensuring specimen integrity under OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Pedi and geri draw skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using straight and butterfly needles.
• Label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to procedures.
• Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy.
• Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
• Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage, temperature, transportation, and handling protocols.
• Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, recordkeeping, and patient information updates.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete required annual department training.
• Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
