Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support a client’s healthcare facility in Ridgefield, CT. The role requires performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate patient information and test orders.

The schedule is 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, local contract for 3 months or more, with a pay range of $17–$21 per hour. A high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of phlebotomy experience are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
  • Centrifuge specimens and maintain data and decontamination records.
  • Explain venipuncture procedures clearly to patients.
  • Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
  • Match requisitions to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
  • Package and store specimens at required temperatures.

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s healthcare facility in Ridgefield, CT 06877.

Job Details

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM | Location: Ridgefield, CT 06877 | Job Type: Local contract | Contract Length: 3 months+ | Pay Range: $17 – $21.00 hourly. Required: Phlebotomy Certification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
  • Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures.
  • Explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and other specimen collection (e.g., urine, fecal) as required.
  • Demonstrate technique(s) using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
  • Fully understand all of the physician's orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
  • Package specimens for transport.
  • Store specimens at the required temperature.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of phlebotomy experience.
