Job summary

AMR is seeking a Float Paramedic to provide advanced medical care across assigned locations, including Kansas and Missouri. This full-time role requires Paramedic certification, BLS and ACLS, and a valid driver’s license. You will lead scenes, operate EMS equipment, and collaborate with health and public safety teams.

Expect shifts across Kansas City, Pleasanton/Linn County, KS, and Cass County/Harrisonville, MO. A strong safety record and physical fitness are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Paramedic certifications for Kansas and Missouri.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS and ACLS required upon hire; PALS preferred.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine the best action according to Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize Paramedic skills with medical equipment to provide advanced care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage the scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Participate in community programs to support AMR image and relations.
