Job summary

AMR is seeking a Float Paramedic to provide advanced medical care across assigned zones. You will deploy with progressive Paramedic protocols, lead scenes as needed, and operate equipment like defibrillators and EKG monitors while coordinating with public safety partners.

This full-time role offers a salary based on experience, with opportunities to work across Kansas City, Pleasanton/Linn County, and Cass County/Harrisonville, MO, and surrounding areas, reflecting the commitment to EMS

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (minimum requirement).
  • Paramedic certifications for KS and MO are required.
  • State Driver’s License is mandatory.
  • BLS and ACLS certification are required upon hire.
  • PALS is preferred but not required.
  • Driving record must comply with company policy.
  • Pass the Physical Agility Test.

Responsibilities

  • Assess each call to determine the best course of action using Paramedic protocols.
  • Use medical equipment (defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, IV) to provide advanced care.
  • Communicate with patients and families to provide updates and reassurance.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Collaborate professionally with allied health and public safety personnel.
  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and relations.
