Job summary

AMR is hiring a Float Paramedic to support emergency responses across Kansas City area and surrounding counties. You will assess calls, provide advanced medical care with defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and IV fluids, and lead scenes on 911 responses.

Qualified candidates hold Kansas/Missouri Paramedic certifications, a valid driver’s license, and BLS/ACLS on hire; PALS preferred. Expect travel among KC-area stations as part of a dynamic EMS team.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Kansas and Missouri Paramedic certifications.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS and ACLS required on hire; PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine the best course of action with Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills with medical equipment to provide advanced care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones about care being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and relations.
