Job summary

AMR is seeking a Float Paramedic to join our emergency medical team across Kansas and Missouri locations. The role offers a full-time schedule with shifts in various counties and the Kansas City area.

Candidates must hold KS and MO Paramedic certifications, a State Driver’s License, and BLS/ACLS at hire. PALS is a plus. You will lead scenes, operate advanced medical equipment, and work with public safety partners to deliver high‑quality care.

Qualifications

• Must have BLS and ACLS upon hire.
• State Driver’s License.
• Paramedic certifications for KS and MO.
• PALS is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and IV fluids to provide advanced care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively with allied health, public safety personnel, and fellow Paramedics.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
