Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, is seeking a Float RN to deliver direct patient care across multiple inpatient units alongside a collaborative team of clinicians. You’ll assess patient needs, administer treatments, document care, and communicate with families to support safe, high‑quality care.

Requires an Associate’s degree in nursing and active Kentucky RN license; 1–2 years bedside RN experience with 2–4 years CCU/critical care preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Active Kentucky RN license (single-state or compact) required.
• 1–2 years bedside RN experience required; 2–4 years critical care experience preferred.
• Ability to float across units and adapt to changing patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process across multiple inpatient units.
• Demonstrates flexibility to float where needed and collaborates with interprofessional teams.
• Performs plan‑of‑care interventions including medication administration and treatments.
• Documents care in a timely, accurate manner and communicates with the care team.
• Monitors patient conditions and collaborates on transfers and discharges.
• Supports activities of daily living and patient education.
