Job summary

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant Float to provide clinical and administrative support across multiple outpatient practice locations in the region. You will travel between practice sites, obtain vital signs, review patient histories, reconcile medications, assist with procedures, and coordinate tests and referrals.

The ideal candidate will have MA training or certification, a valid driver’s license, BLS within 90 days of hire, and comfort with same-day schedule

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a formal Medical Assistant training program or a minimum of one year of hands-on patient care experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to travel to multiple clinic locations within the region, including same-day coverage changes.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of MA orientation and clinical competency assessment.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and patient care practices.
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate EHR systems.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• HIPAA standards compliance.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs, review patient histories, and assist during examinations.
• Prepare patient documentation, ensure records are ready for provider review, and coordinate care activities.
• Gather and submit documentation for prior authorization requests and coordinate scheduling of tests and referrals.
