Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Medical Office Licensed Practical Nurse- Float in Portsmouth, OH. This full-time, on-site role supports the Medical Staff Services department, with duties including patient exams, vitals, documentation, prescriptions, referrals, and team collaboration.

The LPN must have an active license, be BLS certified within 90 days, and have 1–3 months of related experience. The position involves multiple daily tasks and coverage across clinic areas as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required.
• Licensed to practice as an LPN (state) required.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• One to three months experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the provider with patient examinations, procedures, venipuncture, and other diagnostic testing.
• Collects and documents patient vitals, chief complaints, pain assessment, past medical, family and social histories.
• Performs and maintains other LPN duties related to physician office operations.
• Conducts monthly inspections of supplies and medications and disposes of expired items per policy.
• Ensures clinical supplies are properly stocked.
• Reviews charts for next day's appointments.
• Logs and updates medication lists for patients.
• Assists with answering phones, scheduling appointments and scanning.
