Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA, is seeking a Cleared R&D Systems Engineer for the W87-1 Flight Test Vehicle System Engineer role. The position requires a DOE Q clearance and on-site work in California, with occasional travel.

You will contribute to system integration, testing, and data analysis for W87-1 EFTU and DJTA10 integrations, leading mechanical design and test procedures while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience or equivalent.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent to start, with ability to obtain Sigma 15 access.

Responsibilities

• Design and Innovate: design test equipment, subcomponents, cables, and hardware for Flight Test Vehicles and lead mechanical assembly procedures.
• Integrate Systems: develop and verify requirements, collaborate across engineering domains to form a cohesive system.
• Provide Technical Direction: guide technologists in assembly, calibration, and operation of test equipment and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and Resolve: identify root causes during testing and implement mitigation strategies.
• Develop Automated Solutions: design automated test solutions and process flight test data.
