Job summary

Joby Aviation seeks an Aircraft Technical Project Manager to lead planning, scheduling, and execution for the experimental Flight Test aircraft. You will coordinate with the Aircraft Manager, Engineering IPTs, and Flight Test Operations to ensure aircraft readiness and certification activities, balancing test campaigns and program objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience managing technical projects, tracking schedules, and coordinating across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with colleagues across disciplines.
• Must be able to work independently and on a team, with extended hours and travel.
• Proficiency using Project Management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet).

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the technical project plan for the experimental aircraft including maintenance, engineering, and conformity activities.
• Coordinate with Flight Test Operations to manage plans for test campaigns and aircraft readiness.
• Develop technical work instructions and Engineering Data Packages for execution.
• Maintain certification packages and compliance for show events.
• Manage and optimize the technical schedule with dependency tracking and resource management.
• Report plans and schedules to the Program Office and drive alignment.
• Lead cross-functional aircraft status reviews to surface risks and re-baseline priorities.
