Job summary

Joby is seeking a Flight Test Aircraft Engineer to serve as the technical authority for the Flight Test aircraft assets. You will coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Quality, Airworthiness and Certification teams to ensure safety and airworthiness of the platform.

The role requires ownership of configuration, BOMs and documentation, plus hands-on testing, inspections and calibration tasks to support FAA compliance and test readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in aerospace
• Minimum of 2 years experience in aerospace environment
• Experience with aircraft maintenance, Flight Test and systems engineering interfaces
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Willingness to travel ~30% of the time

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical liaison between Flight Test and engineering disciplines
• Approve hardware and software configuration changes and maintain BOMs
• Coordinate, track, and approve all work on the assigned aircraft
• Maintain configuration documentation for traceability to specifications
• Support FAA Type Inspection Authorization and Certification activities
• Manage weight and balance records for dispatch readiness
• Provide accurate configuration data for testing and troubleshooting
