Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Flight Test Engineer at Edwards AFB, onsite. The role leads the planning, coordination, and execution of developmental ground and flight tests, develops test cards, and serves as a focal point in the control room.

Applicants must hold a STEM degree with relevant experience and have an active U.S. Government Secret clearance (SAP/PAR eligibility required).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field with 2+ years of related experience; or Master’s with 0+ years.
• Level 3 requires 5 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and IADS or equivalent data analysis systems.
• Prior professional experience in Flight Test.
• Strong technical background with ability to perform system-level analysis.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (or higher).
• Ability to obtain SAP/PAR before employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop flight test and mission profiles; create and manage test cards and schedules.
• Support distributed test operations and flight preparation sheets.
• Conduct ground and flight tests per plans, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Support test readiness reviews and lead pre- and post-test briefings.
• Provide mission control room support with real-time safety decisions.
• Collaborate with test operations and engineering teams during card development and execution.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration in a multidisciplinary team.
• Oversee test participants to ensure efficient test missions.
• Willingness to work overtime, odd shifts, and weekends as needed.
