Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Flight Test Engineer (Level 2) or Principal Flight Test Engineer (Level 3) to lead planning, coordination, and execution of developmental ground and flight tests at Edwards AFB onsite. The role requires strong technical judgment, safety focus, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

The candidate must have a STEM degree with appropriate years of experience and an active clearance; SAP/PAR eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 2+ years of related experience; or Master's with 0 years
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Prior professional Flight Test experience
• Ability to obtain SAP/PAR before employment
• Proficiency with data analysis systems (IADS) and office tools

Responsibilities

• Develop flight test and mission profiles and manage flight test cards and schedules
• Support distributed test operations and flight preparation sheets
• Conduct ground and flight tests per plans with safety compliance
• Lead test readiness reviews and participate in pre-/post-test briefings
• Provide mission control room support and real-time decision making during tests
• Collaborate with test operations and other engineering disciplines
• Lead cross-functional teamwork and coordinate test participants for efficient missions
