Job summary

Intuitive Machines - West is seeking an experienced Flight Software Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer to join our Bay Area team in Palo Alto or San Jose. You will develop tests to ensure quality, reliability, and safety of flight software for spacecraft missions.

The role requires 5+ years in software verification and validation, with a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience. Office locations in CA imply on-site collaboration and mission-critical testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software verification and validation.
• US Citizen or permanent resident.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/EE/Aerospace or four additional years of experience.
• Experience in test planning, test case development, and test execution.
• Experience with requirements traceability and verification matrices.
• Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for test automation.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN).
• Knowledge of software V&V methodologies and best practices.
• Ability to work extended hours to support mission schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for flight software verification.
• Create detailed test procedures and test cases based on software requirements.
• Perform integration and system-level testing.
• Support hardware-software integration activities.
• Participate in software reviews and requirement walkthroughs.
• Document test results and maintain traceability matrices.
• Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
• Collaborate with flight software development teams.
• Support mission-critical testing activities and launch campaigns.
