Job summary

Relative Dynamics seeks a flight safety analyst to join the Safety & Mission Assurance Office at Wallops Flight Facility. The role focuses on identifying flight hazards, conducting risk analyses, and developing safety plans for orbital and sub-orbital launch programs.

You will coordinate with senior analysts, perform theoretical and practical analyses, and help ensure mission risk is understood and mitigated. A BS in Engineering/Math with 5+ years of experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Mathematics required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in both orbital and sub-orbital vehicle risk analysis.
  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify flight hazards and controls to mitigate flight hazards in aerospace or aeronautical vehicle tests or operations.
  • Perform risk studies and prepare risk analyses and flight safety plans that define safety limits, risk factors and mission rules.
  • Perform casualty expectation and protected area impact probability studies.
  • Analyze mission objectives to assure compliance with Agency and GSFC/WFF Range Flight Safety criteria.
  • Adapt analysis methods to meet unique requirements of assignments.
  • Work with senior analysts on conceptual definitions and complex analyses for new projects.
