Job summary

Relative Dynamics seeks a flight safety analyst to join the Safety & Mission Assurance Office at Wallops Flight Facility. You will coordinate, monitor, and perform risk analyses for orbital and sub-orbital launch vehicles from definition to launch.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or Mathematics and 5+ years of experience, plus strong communication and technical writing skills. TAOS and MATLAB experience is preferred, with prior government-range work valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Mathematics required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in orbital and sub-orbital vehicle risk analysis.
• Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Flight hazard identification and risk analysis.
• Identify flight hazards and controls to mitigate hazards in tests or operations.
• Develop safety plans and risk analyses for missions and programs.
• Perform casualty expectation and protected area studies.
• Coordinate with range users to ensure compliance with safety criteria.
• Collaborate with senior analysts on conceptual definitions and advanced analyses.
• Prepare technical briefs and reports for review panels and senior management.
