Job summary

GE Aerospace in Evendale, Ohio, is seeking a Repair Development Engineer to advance repair and inspection technologies for high‑precision turbomachinery components, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing and engine assembly teams.

You will lead multidisciplinary projects, qualify new processes, deliver program-ready solutions to repair facilities, and communicate cost and schedule progress to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Desire to be hands-on and collaborative in repair shop environments
• Foundational understanding of mechanical design, analysis, GD&T principles, and repair of high-precision turbomachinery components
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills for collaboration with internal/external customers, vendors, and interdisciplinary engineering teams
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical challenges with disciplined documentation, planning, and program management skills
• Ability to independently organize, document, plan, and execute simultaneous projects while aligning to business priorities
• Familiarity with and/or ability to leverage lean/continuous improvement operating models (Flight Deck exposure a plus)
• Ability to work effectively at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and engine assembly
• Program context: potential support of the F110 site and associated repair operations

Responsibilities

• Repair & Inspection Technology Development: Develop repair and inspection technologies that enable new capability, improved producibility, or updated process requirements.
• Process Qualification & Industrialization: Qualify and industrialize new and updated repair/inspection processes, ensuring readiness for deployment into repair facilities.
• Repair Facility Deliverables: Own and execute program deliverables required to transition processes into repair operations (documentation, implementation readiness, and stakeholder alignment).
• Cross‑Functional Integration: Work across engineering, manufacturing, and engine assembly to ensure robust solutions that meet technical and operational needs.
• Cost & Schedule Communication: Track and communicate schedule and cost progress; proactively identify risks and provide short‑ and long‑term options aligned to customer and business needs.
• Technical Problem Solving: Resolve issues requiring strong technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures; consult senior team members for issues outside defined parameters.
• Project / Team Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary project teams; build alignment and accountability to deliver outcomes.
• Customer & Stakeholder Interface: For customer‑facing work, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between the customer and GE; explain technical information clearly in internal and external forums.
