Job summary

RN - Flight/ Transport - AirCare - Full-Time/ Part-Time at University of Mississippi Medical Center provides critical care to patients transported by air or ground to UMMC or designated facilities. The role requires strong emergency nursing skills and the ability to lift heavy patients and operate in high-altitude transports.

You will evaluate and document nursing care during transport, precept students, ensure equipment readiness, and uphold regulatory standards while representing UMMC

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as RN for three years.
• Must meet weight/lifting requirements (250 lbs).
• Able to lift 250 lbs onto a stretcher and carry 50 ft.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS or equivalent required.
• TNCC/BTLS/PHTLS/ITLS or neonatal resuscitation within 6 months.
• Specialty certs such as CEN, CCCRN, CFRN or CTRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, administers, and documents nursing care during transport.
• Provides physical and psychological comfort to patients; monitor condition.
• Precepts medical students and paramedics.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are available and functional.
• Promotes UMMC image by participating in community outreach programs.
• Ensures regulatory compliance of patient care during flight transport.
• Evaluates care for disaster/transport/hospital environments.
• Duties may be added or changed by management.
