Job summary

Healthier Mississippi People seeks a registered nurse to provide optimum critical care during inter-facility and scene transports by air and ground to UMMC and other designated facilities.

The role requires ICU-level nursing skills, ACLS/PALS/ITLS certifications, and the ability to lift heavy loads. The nurse will precept students and may cover shifts at Jackson UMMC or remote sites as required.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as RN with at least 3 years of experience.
• Certifications in ACLS and PALS are required or strongly preferred.
• Experience with critical care in air/ground transport is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, administers, and documents nursing care during transport.
• Provides physical and psychological comfort to patients and monitors condition during transport.
• Precepts medical students and residents.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are available and functioning; reports failures.
• Promotes UMMC image through community involvement.
• Ensures regulatory compliance of patient care during flight transport.
