Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Flight Inspector (Level 1 or 2) to join the Receiving Inspection team in Promontory, Utah. The role is 100% onsite with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off, requiring inspection of tight tolerance parts and adherence to GD&T and ISO 9000/AS9100 standards.

Candidates must have a high school diploma (Level 2 requires 2 years additional education/experience), SMI experience, and the ability to obtain EP status under SEA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Level 2 requires 2 years of related education/experience.
• Proven experience with government contractors.
• Experience with GD&T and ISO 9000/AS9100 quality systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong math skills including advanced trigonometry.
• Must be able to obtain Employee Possessor status under the Safe Explosives Act.
• Willingness to work shift, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of quality inspection tasks independently.
• Conduct visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections on parts and assemblies.
• Review certification and data packages from suppliers.
• Follow procedures and planning documentation for inspections.
• Utilize standard measurement instruments to perform inspections.
• Sit/stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds in a 9/80 schedule.
