Job summary

Air Methods Clinical in Springfield, IL, seeks a registered nurse with 3+ years of critical care experience for helicopter transport. You’ll provide high-quality care, assess patients, and coordinate with Medical Directors and pilots.

The role emphasizes safety, ongoing education, and readiness for 24/7 on-call rotations. A BSN is preferred; current RN license and relevant certifications required. Benefits and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field preferred but not required.
  • Minimum three years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience in last five years.
  • Flight experience is not required but is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality critical care from initial contact to handoff at accepting facility.
  • Maintain thorough patient care documentation and competency in required skills.
  • Assist with pre-mission liftoff checklists and support pilot activities as needed.
  • Ensure safety of patients, crew, and equipment during transport.
