Leidos Defense Systems Advanced Development Organization seeks a talented Flight Dynamicist to develop and analyze flight dynamics models, perform trajectory design, and validate GNC algorithms for missiles, hypersonic vehicles, and space systems.

You will build high-fidelity simulations, perform multi-disciplinary analyses, and collaborate across engineering teams to translate requirements into robust vehicle designs and testable concepts.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field, ABET-accredited, with 4+ years’ experience.
• Master's degree plus 2–4 years in flight dynamics, trajectory analysis, mission design, guidance and control, modeling & simulation.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and analyze 3DOF and 6DOF flight dynamics models to evaluate vehicle performance and mission effectiveness.
• Perform trajectory design, optimization, and trade studies for hypersonic, missile, and space systems.
• Design and validate guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) algorithms including autopilot logic and terminal guidance.
• Develop high-fidelity simulations and digital engineering models for concept development and test activities.
• Conduct aerodynamic, propulsion, mass properties, and environmental analyses to identify design drivers and risks.
• Support flight test planning, post-flight reconstruction, and data analysis to improve models.
