Leidos Defense Systems Advanced Development Organization is seeking a talented Flight Dynamicist to join our team to create unique solutions for complex problems in missiles, hypersonic vehicles, satellites, and space systems. Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required with 4 years of experience
• Masters and 2-4 years of flight dynamics or related aerospace engineering experience preferred
• Experience developing and analyzing 3DOF/6DOF vehicle simulations
• Strong knowledge of flight mechanics and trajectory optimization
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, STK, GMAT, FORTRAN, C/C++ or similar
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams in fast-paced environment
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS if required

Responsibilities

• Develop 3DOF and 6DOF flight dynamics models to evaluate performance and stability
• Perform trajectory design, optimization, and trade studies for missiles and space systems
• Design and validate guidance, navigation, and control algorithms
• Develop high-fidelity simulations and digital engineering models
• Conduct analyses of aerodynamic, propulsion, mass properties, and environment
• Support flight test planning, data analysis, and model validation
• Collaborate across aerodynamics, propulsion, systems, software, and mission analysis teams
• Support technical proposals and customer engagements
• Present results and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
