Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a full-time Flight Communications and Dispatch Coordinator to operate MedCenter Air systems, coordinate flight missions, and ensure safe, efficient patient transports. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associates Degree preferred.
• Current EMT certification required or must obtain EMT certification within one year of hire.
• EMT-P certification preferred; IAMTCS CFC certification within one year.
• 2 years EMS/Fire/Law Enforcement/Critical Care dispatching experience preferred.
• 1 year prior flight coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates all radios, computer systems, and equipment for MedCenter Air.
• Knows range, capabilities and limitations of aircraft and vehicles.
• Ensures appropriate transport mode is assigned to each request.
• Coordinates all aspects of the mission and monitors transport units with safety as priority.
• Collects and maintains accurate transport records and documentation.
• Confirms prescheduled transports on the day of transport.
• Manages supplies and equipment cost-effectively.
• Submits department changes and credits in a timely manner.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Associates Degree preferred

Current EMT certification required

EMT-P certification preferred

IAMTCS Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification

2 years of EMS/Fire/Law Enforcement/Critical Care dispatching experience

1 year previous flight coordination (Rotor and/or Fixed Wing) experience
