IDD Aerospace Corporation, a Safran Electronics and Defense subsidiary, seeks a Systems Engineer to design and certify avionics for flight decks on commercial, business, and military aircraft. You will translate requirements into LRU system architecture, DO-254/DO-178/DO-160 artifacts, and work with cert authorities.

The role emphasizes DO-254 stage audits, traceability, test planning, and environmental testing, with focus on airworthiness, safety, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum of five years of experience in aerospace or avionics systems development.
• U.S. Person per ITAR regulations and export control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document airborne equipment with DO-254/DO-178 compliance.
• Capture and manage customer requirements with traceability and verification.
• Define architectures for system and subsystems to meet certification standards.
• Create DO-254 compliance artifacts for hardware certification.
• Lead audits with certification authorities during DO-254 SOI stages.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including plans, designs, and validation records.
• Lead peer reviews of technical documents and ensure action items are closed.
• Drive process improvements in systems engineering to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Manage requirements traceability across the project lifecycle.
• Write and oversee DO-160 environmental qualification testing.
