Job summary

Avidyne is seeking a Systems Engineer to define, integrate, and verify the system that powers our cockpit displays and avionics products. You will translate customer and regulatory requirements into detailed specifications and guide architectures across hardware, software, and mechanical disciplines.

This role supports certification through the entire process. You will collaborate with hardware, software, and mechanical engineers to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted and implemented,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in systems, electrical, aerospace, or related engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience (or a Master's with less experience).
• Applied knowledge of systems engineering principles — requirements management, architecture trade studies, and interface definition.
• Familiarity with avionics hardware and software development processes, including DO-178C and DO-254.

Responsibilities

• Define, allocate, and manage system-level requirements for cockpit displays and avionics products.
• Develop system architectures that balance functionality, performance, safety, and cost across hardware, software, and mechanical subsystems.
• Plan and execute system integration activities, bringing together hardware, software, and mechanical components into a cohesive product.
• Develop and execute verification and validation plans in accordance with ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-254 guidance.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of system-level issues, and drive corrective actions across disciplines.
• Support certification efforts by preparing system-level compliance documentation and coordinating with certification liaison and DERs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to transition systems from development to production, keeping design intent intact.
