Job summary

Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area seeks a full-time Flight Controls Systems Engineer Intern to learn and contribute to avionics system development, requirements capture, and certification activities.

You will work with colleagues across electrical, software, and mechanical domains, supporting system-level designs and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in computer or aerospace/electrical engineering or related field.
• Excellent academics with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Experience and/or training working with cross functional teams.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship skills.
• Other education or experiences relevant to applicable projects.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers to maintain and communicate requirements across subsystems.
• Participate in product design activities including electrical, software, or mechanical development.
• Conduct verification and validation testing per test plans.
• Help develop systems requirements for autopilot/flight director systems.
• Analyze and test existing autopilot systems for delays and control response.
