Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks an early-career Software Engineer to join the Flight Controls team in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will contribute to real-time embedded flight control software responsible for flight guidance, autothrottle, autopilot, maintenance, and autoland features.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree and experience in C/C++, OO design, and Simulink-based workflows. The role emphasizes DO-178B/C activities and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience developing in modern programming languages (e.g. C++; C).
• Experience with object oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Define and review software requirements, including interface requirements.
• Implement control and signal processing algorithms via hand-code and integration of auto-generated code from MATLAB Simulink / Stateflow models into application software.
• Conduct requirements-based testing of software.
• Support DO-178B/C compliant software certification activities.
• Prior experience with object-oriented development and embedded software development is desired.
