Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering, to develop, integrate, and verify software for flight deck displays and crew alerting systems for Boeing aircraft.

You will collaborate with teams to ensure certification readiness, provide technical leadership, and drive the software lifecycle from requirements to verification within an embedded RTOS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in CS/EE or related field with >=3–5 years software experience.
• 3+ years of C/C++ experience and embedded systems development.
• 3+ years DO-178B/C Level A software development/verification.
• 3+ years software development on embedded RTOS platforms.
• 2+ years model-based software development.
• Must be a U.S. person or eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and verify software for flight deck displays and crew alerting systems for Boeing commercial aircraft.
• Collaborate with team and customer to meet requirements and certification needs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to peers.
• Decompose and write software requirements and specifications.
• Design and modify software architecture and models.
• Write C, C++, and Python code; integrate in lab environments.
• Create and run software verification cases; analyze results.
• Perform static, memory/timing analysis and structural coverage analysis.
• Prepare software documents for aircraft certification.
• Adhere to DO-178B/C DO-178C specifications.
