Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville seeks a senior Control Lead to design, analyze, and verify flight control systems for our next‑generation vehicles. You will lead actuation control studies, build models, run simulations, and supervise a team of GNC engineers to ensure safety and performance in reentry and transonic regimes.

You hold a Master’s in a technical field, have 10+ years in flight control, and are proficient with MATLAB/Simulink; C++ or Python is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in a technical field
• 10+ years in flight control design/analysis
• Experience with flap actuation control systems
• Knowledge of hypersonic and transonic flight dynamics
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and related tools
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of flight control systems and control laws for aerodynamic surfaces
• Oversee models and simulations for flap actuation control systems
• Conduct analyses for performance in hypersonic reentry and transonic regimes
• Lead verification/validation through simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight tests
• Provide technical leadership to a team of GNC engineers
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for integration with vehicle
• Maintain design specs, test plans, and analysis reports
