Job summary

AWT is seeking a qualified individual to join our Garner, North Carolina location as a printing press operator. The role focuses on operating a printing press, maintaining quality, and ensuring safety in a fast-paced environment.

You will read job orders, set up equipment, monitor production, and coordinate with fellow press operators to meet daily targets. Schedule is Monday-Thursday, 4:00 pm - 2:00 am, with overtime as production demands dictate.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Thursday, Hours are - 4:00 pm - 2:00 am. Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.

Required Job Duties

• Operate a printing press.


• Fill out Production Traveler.


• Must keep press and work area clean to avoid potential hazardous conditions.


• Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.


• Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.


• Visually check each roll for correctness and free of defects.


• Work with other press operators and/or management, when necessary, to achieve desired results.

Requirements

• Knowledge of how to set up and operate a printing press.


• Knowledge of how to mount plates, print cylinders, dies and ink in to press.


• Must be able to read job orders correctly for desired customer results.


• Must have basic mathematic skills.


• Dependability - must be reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.


• Cooperation is important and requires being pleasant with other employees on the job and displaying a good-natured,


• Adaptability/Flexibility - Job requires being open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.


• 2 years minimum experience in printing.
