Job summary

Katy ISD is seeking a Re-Hire Certified Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to cover classrooms as needed. This opportunity is open to former KISD employees only, with duties assigned by the Sub Office/Principal and the expectation to adhere to campus routines.

The role requires strong classroom management, reliability, and the ability to communicate with students and staff in English. Flexibility and punctuality are essential as substitute duties vary by day and campus needs.

Qualifications

• Teaching certification OR Bachelor's degree OR minimum 60 college hours.
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Act in lieu of the regular classroom teacher and perform the duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.
• Follow the lesson plans provided and maintain the regular routine of the class.
• Leave a summary of work covered and communicate with the regular teacher.
