Qualifications

• Teaching certification OR Bachelor’s degree OR Minimum of 60 college hours.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Speak, write, read, and comprehend English – communicate with students, staff and others in English.
• Punctuality and dependability.
• Flexibility in the job assignment.

Responsibilities

• Act in lieu of the regular classroom teacher and perform the duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.
• Complete the duties and tasks of the absent teacher.
• Follow the lesson plans provided by the teacher as closely as practical and maintain the regular routine of the class.
• Leave a summary of work covered in each class and other information pertinent to the teacher.
• Manage classroom behavior to maintain an environment conducive to good learning.
• Notify an administrator if additional assistance is needed.
