Job summary

Katy Independent School District is seeking a Non-Degreed Substitute for the 2026-2027 school year. This role supports the Substitute Office and campus principals, covering duties as needed and ensuring classroom routines are maintained in the absence of the regular teacher.

The position requires teaching credentials or a related degree, strong English communication, reliability, and flexibility. Immediate start is possible with an emphasis on student learning and behavior management.

Qualifications

• Must hold a teaching certification OR a Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 60 college hours.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Speak, write, read, and comprehend English; communicate with students, staff and others in English.

Responsibilities

• Act in lieu of the regular classroom teacher and perform duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.
• Complete the duties and tasks of the absent teacher.
• Follow the lesson plans provided and maintain the regular class routine.
• Leave a summary of work covered and relevant information for the teacher.
