Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Flex Officer to support a range of clients in Downtown Chicago. You will perform patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents, while using our shift-pickup platform to claim open shifts based on your availability.

The role offers flexible schedules, ongoing training, and opportunities for growth within a leading security company. Prior security experience is not required, but a valid license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.
• Valid driver’s license if driving company or client vehicle.
• Background investigation required by site post orders.
• Must be at least 18 years old (21 if armed) and reliable.
• Ability to operate radio/telephone equipment and consoles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact cordially with the public.
• Experience in security or law enforcement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular conditions that may create security concerns or hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police/fire department as needed.
• Warn violators of rules and enforce access control.
• Monitor entrances and exits and verify authorized entry.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property.
• Investigate incidents and maintain post logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary.
