Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a School Nurse (Floater or Per Diem) in Massachusetts to develop and manage a comprehensive school health program. The nurse will provide nursing services, health education, and collaborate with administrators and families to promote student wellness.

The role requires a valid MA RN license, BSN/MSN, school nurse certification eligibility, and at least two years of relevant nursing experience. Flexible scheduling and school-based health support are included.

Qualifications

• Valid current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
• BSN or MSN from an accredited professional nursing program.
• Certified or eligible for certification as a school nurse through the Massachusetts Department of Education.
• Minimum of two years experience in community health, school nursing, pediatric nursing or related field.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and manages a comprehensive school health program.
• Promotes safety practices and ensures an emergency plan is communicated to staff and students.
• Organizes state-mandated programs such as immunization surveillance and screening.
• Maintains health records for all students and collaborates with administrators on health needs.
• Conducts nursing assessments, develops care plans, and provides first aid and health interventions.
• Responds to health issues and provides counseling and crisis intervention as required.
• Supports immunization programs and disease prevention in schools and community clinics.
