Job summary

Interim HealthCare in New Jersey seeks a Substitute/Floating School Nurse (RN) to provide coverage across multiple school sites in the New Brunswick district. This role offers flexible per diem scheduling and the opportunity to work in a variety of school health offices during the day.

As a Float Nurse, you will travel between schools, respond to health concerns, administer medications, and support students with healthcare needs under physician orders and school policies.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license.
• Pediatric nursing experience required.
• School nursing experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between school locations.
• Adaptable to changing assignments and priorities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing coverage in school health offices.
• Assess illnesses, injuries, or health concerns.
• Administer medications per orders and policy.
• Respond to emergencies and monitor chronic conditions.
• Maintain accurate student health records.
• Coordinate with parents, staff, and healthcare providers.
• Travel between school locations as needed.
• Support multiple schools during the day.
