Job summary

Town of Avon is seeking a Recreation Program Instructor I to assist with, instruct, and participate in age-appropriate activities for the Recreation Center’s after-school, school’s out and/or summer camp programs. This position is a school-aged aide qualified position and can be summer camp seasonal or part-time year-round.

The role requires applicants to be at least 16 years old, have a state-issued ID and may require CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to supervise children in a safe, caring environment.
• Willingness to follow licensing policies and safety rules.
• Possession of or the ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising and caring for children in a calm, safe environment.
• Interact with children through games, arts, and planned activities.
• Follow state School-aged licensing policies.
• Conduct sign-in/sign-out and track children's whereabouts.
