Job summary

Kroger Co. in Cleveland, MS is seeking a diligent Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions, and assist with questions about products. You will work with the POS system, handle various tenders, and ensure accuracy while following company policies on cash handling and loss prevention.

The role requires staying updated on ads, food safety, and safety procedures, and providing friendly service to all customers, including minors and seniors, in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Know basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in-store.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle tenders including cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, rain checks, loyalty offers, coupons and checkout procedures.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention policies.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and food safety regulations.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain equipment and the store environment to welcome customers.
• Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Work well in a fast-paced environment and handle conflict professionally.
• Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
