Job summary

Penmac Education Staffing in Rolla is hiring Substitute Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year in the Rolla School District. You will have the flexibility to create your own schedule and set your preferences for grade levels, buildings, and subjects you wish to teach.

Penmac provides training and ongoing support to substitute teachers to ensure you have the tools and skills needed to succeed in the classroom.

Qualifications

Must have 36 college credit hours (any subject) or complete a Missouri online training program.
Must obtain a Missouri Teaching License or Substitute Certificate.
Background check and training as required by Penmac.

Responsibilities

Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria.
Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plans.
For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans.
