Job summary

KBW Financial Staffing & Recruiting has partnered with a construction company in Hampden County, Massachusetts to identify an experienced Project Accountant who will support project financials from setup through closeout and enjoy a flexible schedule for the right candidate. Responsibilities include managing job setups, cost tracking, budgets, profitability, and billings.

You will collaborate with project managers to supply financial insights and ensure compliant reporting and timely month-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in construction or project accounting required.
• Sage 300 experience highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting and WIP reporting.
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities including job setup, cost tracking, and closeout.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability.
• Review and reconcile job cost reports and related schedules.
• Support billing processes, including progress billing and change orders.
• Partner with project managers to provide financial insights and cost analysis.
• Ensure accurate reporting in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
• Assist with month-end close and related reconciliations.
