Unknown construction firm south of Boston is seeking a Project Accountant to oversee the financial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The role involves budgeting, forecasting, billing coordination, and collaboration with project managers and the accounting team.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance with at least 3 years of project accounting experience in construction, plus strong GAAP knowledge and proficiency in Procore

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in construction.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Procore is a plus.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Accountant to join thier team. The Project Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Review and approve project budgets and cost estimates
• Monitor project expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for project stakeholders
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely and accurate billing to clients
• Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices
• Ensure compliance with all accounting and tax regulations
• Participate in project meetings and provide financial updates to project teams
• Assist with the preparation of project proposals and bids
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
• Continuously evaluate and improve project accounting processes and procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry
