Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled Welder to certify multi-process pipe welding and assemble structural forms such as machinery frames, tanks, and vessels according to blueprints.

Responsibilities include layout, alignment, and welding of piping systems and structural shapes using SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW. Must be able to read plans, apply proper welding techniques, and maintain safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe or other related materials according to specifications.
• Plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.
• May use multiple welding processes including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW as required.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components for assembly and welding.
• Welds metal components using arc welding equipment in various positions.
