Job summary

Mount Carmel seeks a part-time Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The role involves collaborating with the care team, supporting patients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs, and applying the nursing process per organizational guidelines.

You will assess, administer medications per policy, participate in emergencies, educate patients and families, and maintain thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS/CPR.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team.
• Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred.
• 18 months of recent/relevant clinical experience within their specialty area.
• Candidates must successfully complete a series of online competencies with an 80% or greater to be eligible.
• Medical Surgical Nursing- BLS required, ACLS preferred, Critical Care- ACLS required, ER- ACLS and PALS required, Perinatal-EFM (Labor and Delivery) and NRP required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice; Assist provider with patient assessment, examinations and treatments; Perform basic medical procedures under supervision.
• Administer medications under the direction of the provider, according to the organization’s standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
• Assist in emergency situations under the direction of the provider.
• Educate patients and family members about procedures (diagnosis, disease process, etc.).
• Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
• Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
